Challenges Faced
Before our intervention, SEACOMP had already implemented Odoo Enterprise with support from Odoo Direct (HK). However, several operational challenges remained:
- Legacy customizations and workflows made further improvement difficult.
- Lack of local Odoo expertise in China to support the advanced manufacturing and planning team.

- Fast-changing supply chain disruptions (e.g., COVID impact)
- Global component shortages in electronics
- Required integration of FrePPLe, an advanced planning and scheduling (APS) system, alongside Odoo
- Needed to consolidate financial and operational KPIs across six different companies
- No efficient system for live MES feedback and production efficiency tracking
- Extensive manual Excel reports for shareholders and internal financial reviews
Odoo Implementation
We joined an ongoing ERP deployment and served as the key local partner to coordinate between the operational team, Odoo, and Portcities (FrePPLe implementer). Our contributions included:

ERP Modules in Use:
- Sales, Purchase, Manufacturing, Inventory (WMS), Accounting, CRM, Maintenance, HR
- Full support for barcode scanning at all warehouse and production stages
- MES integration for real-time data collection from machines and workstations

- Worked with FrePPLe team to sync Odoo data and allow APS-based MRP scheduling
- Customized workflows to support multi-step subcontracting and rapid material availability changes

Financial Reporting Enhancements:
- Built dynamic cross-company SQL reports (with access to large datasets)
- Automated Google Sheets integration for shareholder reports using live database queries
- Eliminated Excel copy-paste operations by embedding live financial dashboards into Odoo

- Developed Production Efficiency Dashboards using MES data
- Enabled visualizations of time tracking, scrap rates, and machine uptime per line or operator
